Western Riding
Welcome to Blue Shade Ranch, our equestrian center specializing in Western riding and the breeding of Quarter Horses and Paint Horses. We also raise Highland Cattle, all in the open air, on 110 hectares of meadows and woods.
We also offer boarding for owners’ horses for stays of any length—from a single day to a full year—in the unspoiled setting of the slopes of Pierres Jaumâtres Hill, a natural site that has been a protected area since 1927.
We offer lessons, clinics, and trail rides year-round for riders ages 7 to 77, from beginners to experienced riders. We have a beautiful 50 x 40 m sand arena, a Mountain Trail course, and pastures where you can practice in real-world situations alongside our cows.
Our horses—Quarter Horses and Paint Horses, most of whom were born and raised here—are calm, responsive, and well-trained. We invite you to explore various disciplines of Western riding in a supportive and friendly atmosphere. We also do a lot of groundwork, as our primary goal is to foster a bond and connection between rider and horse.
Under the guidance of Denis Glenard, an instructor certified in Western riding through the BPJEPS program, come discover a different approach to horseback riding.
Located in the northeastern part of the Creuse department, 35 minutes from Montluçon or Guéret, Blue Shade Ranch is an equestrian center affiliated with the FFE, certified by the French School of Western Riding and recognized for its commitment to animal welfare.
